Governor Richard D. Snyder appointed Duane Berger acting director of DHS

Governor Richard D. Snyder appointed Duane Berger acting director of DHS, effective Monday, January 3.

Berger was previously senior deputy director for department services with Michigan Department of State and was director of Michigan Department of Management and Budget from 2001-3.

Snyder also appointed Dudley Spade and Brian Rooney as deputy directors. Spade was formerly in the Michigan Legislature and was chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Services. Rooney is an attorney and was chief spokesperson for the Thomas More Law Center in Ann Arbor.
